Peasants...fake or the real thing

Balik kerja tengah hari tadi, I decided to singgah at one kedai runcit called Noorfathima di kawasan Mentiri. After I locked my car, ada this male kid (probably under 10 years old) pakai t-shirt biru muda and seluar quarter length.
He was standing not far from the entrance (ada tampat stand penyapu & mop). Ditagurnya ku and gave me a hand signal as in"Minta $1".
I was shocked and totally ignored him. Ku tanya cashier kedai about the kid. She said that andang lama sudah anak atu di sana, tiap hari. If I'm not mistaken dari start puasa sudah. Again I'm shocked!
How can his parents be so ignorant.... How could they let their child minta sedakah like that. I'm disgusted.
When I left the shop, I decided to speak to him personally.
Di mana ko tinggal wang? Di sana... (sambil menunjuk ke jalan menuju ke Muara).
Jauhkah? Inda jua brapa jauh.
Inda ko skulah kah? Skulah. Aku balik skulah tadi.
Bah, patang ani inda ko skulah ugama kan? Inda... (sambil tunduk2 mungkin segan).
Pasal apa inda skulah ugama? Batah sudah inda...
Kenapa plg inda ugama? Nada baju ugama.
Siapa nama bapa mu? Kula bin Mansor.
Mana bapamu masani? Becarai sudah.
Mamamu di mana? Balik kampung ia.
Ko tinggal sama siapa kan? Abangku... (sambil tunduk2).
Sudah tah ko makan? Balum...
Nada urg basar danganmu tinggal d rumah kan? Nada...
*Sigh* Kesian jua ku mendangar...
Honestly, I'm the type of person yang inda suka bagi muka rah peminta sedekah. Normally, I would totally ignore them. Not because I'm a stuck-up b!+ch, but I don't like the idea of them being peasants (fake or for real) while they've parents or family at home. They are either being ignored or simply seeking for attention...I'm not sure. You may have heard about these 'kid peasants' asking for $$$ just for the fun of it. Ada yg pernah teliat, lapas kids ani dapat duit, ada yg selajur berlari ke kadai internet main CS (Counter Strike)!
Now that disgusts me!
However, in this case, I've a hunch that this kid is telling the truth. Why I said so... Because he didn't for one second hesitate replying my questions. Inda ia walk away... inda penyeluru or senyum2....U noe lah, if yg jenis kurang ajar nampak dari facial expressionnya.
He stood there speaking to me in a good manner. If ia jenis yang bedusta, he'd probably hesitate giving me all the details...u noe, takut kedapatan or kana report to his parents.
I purposely questioned about his father's name, just to test him & see his reaction.
Hmmmm.... Allah saja yang tahu. So I hand him 50 cents (the change I got earlier) and said, "Nah! Agatah membali nasi di dalam".
Mind you, I'm not 'karit'. I just disagree that he's there asking for money. I noe it's not his fault & just hungry for lunch. But, karang nyanyat ia diri2 d kadai atu minta $$$ saja rah urang. Inda pedah2 branti skulah ia pulang kraja minta sedakah!!

PSR 2008 exam is officially over

These images are taken in the examination hall (Dewan Serbaguna) at Sekolah Yayasan SHHB.

*Brand new & cozy*

PSR 2008 is officially over and done!

I'm soooo relieved that it's over. So the last big thing to come our way is the RESULT! Normally it will come out before the December school holidays.

I'm expecting better results for this year's batch. Nevertheless, I'm not sure if they're better than last year's batch. Teaching Primary 6 is totally new for me.

I hope they'll get thru' with flying colours. I hope that I'll be seeing new faces next year. I hope they're no repeaters. I hope that they'll be better students and head towards a brighter future in whatever they do. I hope that they're better than me as an individual. I hope that they could make full use of whatever knowledge they've learnt from me.

I hope they'll gain success in life and remember me as part of their learning experience.

Hooked on them...

These days, you'll find me sitting religiously in front of the TV (every Tuesdays & Wednesdays) catching up on Lipstick Jungle, America's Got Talent and The Moment of Truth.

The Magnificent Leonid *He definitely caught my attention!*

This show shocks me everytime!

I just need to get it off my chest once in a while...
Imagine yourself in an uncomplicated, but rather uncomfortable situation. Lets say you're in your early thirties, and married for more than 4 years. So, it's Hari Raya and you go beraya to relatives. What's the most frequent asked question that you hear??

"Alum ko beanak?" *Siiiiiiiggghhhhh*

My life is not complicated. Our lives go smoothly as it is. I take each day one at a time. Yet that uncomfortable spot find its way to get us. When it comes to visiting relatives, I dread for such question. I would stumble on my words upon replying. It's embarassing...

Rezeki... Semuanya ada pada Tuhan. As a muslim, we believe that rezeki inda semestinya wang ringgit, harta benda atau kehidupan yang mewah. Tapi boleh jua berupa zuriat. Yes, that's true. In regards to our rezeki...who am I to question my rezeki. Seolah-olah inda bersyukur pada apa yang telah dilimpahkan oleh Allah selama ani. Rezeki yang telah dikurniakan pada kitani berbeza dan inda semestinya sama dengan orang lain.

For me, mungkin rezeki zuriat kami belum sampai.

I believe that buat masa ani kami diberi peluang untuk mencapaikan hajat masing-masing.

Masalah atau musibah yang dihadapi oleh seseorang itu tandanya Allah menguji kesabaran dan ketabahannya. Semakin sabar dan tabah seseorang itu, semakin sayanglah Allah padanya.

That's exactly what I tell myself everytime I feel down. Walau bagaimana besar masalah yang menimpa diri kitani, sememangnya ada lagi orang yang lebih susah ditimpa masalah berbanding kitani.

Do we feel lonely? Yes, of course we do. Do I ever think about adoption? A couple of times, yes. Somehow, I dare not to ask around. I don't want people to think that we are desperate. To think that I'm egoistic, that would be shallow. All I can say is if the opportunity or offer comes one day, I certainly would not hesitate to say 'yes'. It would certainly be beyond my imagination.

Redha, berusaha, tawakkal, berserah saja pada Allah. That's all I can do for now.... I try as much as possible not to worry too much over it. But I'm a woman, and I guess it's human nature for us to worry and often question ourselves.

The future is the whole deal for me. I'm in my thirties already... only time can tell. Forty may be a long journey ahead, but I don't think so. Time flies...and I'm still waiting....

Lil' Andre...

Get to watch lil' Andre (myna / burung tiong) being fed this afternoon. Oh gosh... he's gone from a baby bird that can hardly stand on its own two feet to being a maturing myna every single day. Andre & his other pair can now perch. He has grown really healthy. He still needs to be fed by hand tho', but it won't be for long.

Mind you, they sure like to take a dip into water! Gauk c Andre atu. Masa bapa bari makan, pandai ia melumpat rah gayung berisi air. Mula2 menaguk aying...impress tah kami meliat yang ia pandai minum sendiri. Sekali...terajun ia dlm aying gayung atu. Cukup dengan terajun atu kibar2nya tia sayapnya. Atu ia...kami yang ketempiasan!! Bagus!!!

RV'78: Inda sabar rasanya kan ngambil ia esuk... yeheeee...

PSR exam starts today

The day that we've all been waiting or rather dreading for has finally come.

I got posted as invigilator to Yayasan school. First time jadi pengawas, tarus pulang kana antar ke skulah semi-government.

Arrived there early, around 7.30 a.m. Culture shock jua bila sampai ke skulah atu. Al maklum lah, skulah bebayar. Jauh2 bejalan & mencari dewan peperiksaannya (they're using Dewan Serbaguna) ahirnya tetulus jua.

The building itself is actually brand new, cukup dengan air-conditioner, a nice stage with navy blue curtains, spotlights on ceiling, 3 or 4 rows of grandstand seats and pvc walls (which I really like).

I'm gaining good experience from being an invigilator. It's good to be out of your comfort zone once in a while.

PSR exam: 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th October 2008.

Biarlah doaku sentiasa mengiringimu

Ya Allah, semoga murid-muridku dapat menjawab soalan-soalan peperiksaan besar mereka tahun ini dengan tabah dan tawakkal...

Permudahkanlah kepayahan mereka, hilangkanlah kerunsingan mereka, lancarkanlah pemikiran mereka...

Makbulkanlah permohonan ku. Amin ya rabbal alamin....

Sharing the festivities & love on Syawal

We’ve taken around hundreds of photos during raya. I have to say, the photos taken especially on the 1st day of raya showed loads of love & the value of family. The gathering around, the smiles, gestures and even the food showed lots of love goin’ around. I can’t wait to do it all over again next year. Another Ramadhan and another Syawal.

So I’m dedicating these pictures to CT Mun a.k.a. Munique as she’s away from home this year. [Promised her to upload photos.] Enjoy!
Here are some awesome photos taken around 1st day of Aidilfitri that I love to share with you. These are family members as well as close relatives that are always there for you. Love it!

*We got teased for this pose. Haha!*

5th day of Raya

It feels like it was only yesterday that Hari Raya started. Well, that's for me, dunno about you guys out there. Tomorrow morning will be just another day of work..again. Though the atmosphere and festive mood will definitely be obvious since it's only the 5th day of Syawal.

I'm certainly in no mood in what-so-ever for teaching just yet. (Nevertheless, I must plan my tomorrow's lesson).

Oh man! It's taking me ages for the computer to upload my raya pics. I'm trying to put them up in Facebook (for my cousins & frens) and here. But the uploading is terribly slow. I might have to do it tomorrow.

*Taken at Ghani's residence*

Taken at Uncle Halim's place *nice & cozy*

Oh, btw, below is our new myna bird pet named Andre (well, one of them actually!). He's gotten bigger & healthier in just a couple of days. He has rather strong feet now. Andre came with another sibling who will be adopted by my in-laws.

*I've no clue how to differentiate the gender. And I still can't make up my mind which one to choose*

Both are still young, and we feed them by hand. They tend to get hungry very often (every 2-3 hours). They're loud, but absolutely adorable.

1st Syawal...

Happy Hari Raya to everyone!

I love the morning atmosphere and the sights of family gathering aside from the hot weather. The sky was clear. However, it rains in the afternoon. So, this year likewise, we started from rumah Mama, then rumah Ngah Janah, after that rumah Ngah Mina and lastly rumah Tua Muhamad. All these houses served nasi lemak, satay, etc.
I feel a lil' guilty eating in the morning and so replaced that with sweet drinks. Tapi pada hakikatnya sama jua kambung parut ulih minum saja. Apraaa, Labu....

This year, the guests (or relatives) kinda' bertambah. I see a couple of new born babies... Have no idea who's the baby daddy, tho.

Later on around 1.00 p.m., went to pay my family a visit in the afternoon. I always love walking into the huge guest room during raya. It was only open for special ocassions such as this.

The smell of air freshener... the cool temperature... looking through what's new as decoration... sitting cozily on the sofa... just being there in the comfort of my family home.

All my sisters were there. My aunts & uncles came over and I took a couple of pictures. (Still experimenting & getting used to D60).
My bro-in-law took the opportunity to check out the D60. (Hehehe... thinking of getting one urself??)
It was then almost 4.00 p.m. when we decided to get back home for a rest.

Later in the evening, hubs & I were having dinner with Pijah & Jati rah Mama when Ngah Garip invited us to come over. I was actually wearing baju rumah, and dat is it! But, untuk tidak menghampakan peminat...we go ahead...baju rumah and all!

Honestly, this is the first time EVER aku beraya ke rumah Ngah Garip wearing baju tidur/rumah! Yes, in the year 2008! Bida kali ah... baik jua nada urang singgah beraya. Mun ada tepaksa balik lalu pintu dapur.

Hari Raya on Thursday

I soooo want this Gucci clutch bag for Raya. I wish.....

I'm actually excited to greet Syawal. I worked so hard doing the house chores yesterday. Hubs & I cleaned the surroundings, cleared away the debris that got it's way around the house drain. So tired, yet worth all the sweat. At least we don't have to rush cleaning the house again the day before raya.
All we need to do now is sorting through the house decorations, iron our best suits for tomorrow and rest. Oh, and watch the raya programmes on astro! It's a good thing we're one day late of raya. We get to watch the good parts for sure.

So, what's up for today? Another good news is we added a new pet and it is yet to join our family.... a myna bird (burung tiong). I name it Andre. It came as a pair, so Andre's other sibling is adopted by my in-laws.

I haven't got a chance to take snapshots of Andre. He's not fully covered with feathers and still considered as a baby at this stage. I was and still am amazed by their reactions everytime they're being fed. I must say, these birds are loud and considered as smart pets. So, I'm excited to see how smart he'll grow into.

I can just tell how 'religious' my Andre would be. How come? Coz the mosque is just across the road. Anytime soon he'll be able to immitate all the azan prayers performed by different Imams!
Impressive, huh!

Missing Ramadhan already

It is also at this time and moment that your handphone will play Raya ringtones multiple times alerting you for the loads of Aidilfitri messages you're receiving from friends and family.

I've already received 2 messages and it's only 7.22 p.m. Just for the record, they're from a former student's parent and another is from Satil.

(Azan Isya mula dilaungkan oleh suami tercinta di masjid berdekatan).

I remember the first time I heard it exclusively via the phone. It was sumwat magical & I was stunned! *sigh*

Oh, btw, bunyi letupan badil dan bunga api pun inda kurang kuatnya daripada takbir Raya. Berlawan-lawanan bunyinya.

Seperti biasa, lapas suami balik dari Sembahyang Sunnat Raya esok, start tah kesibukan ziarah-menziarahi kaum keluarga dan saudara-mara berdekatan. Ia tah hari yang paling mengenyangkan ni. Mudahan jua baju raya ku tahun ani dapat menampung juadah Hari Raya. Maklum, baju fesyen, selalunya baju kurung biasa.

(Just for the record, berat badanku pun turun di musim puasa tahun ani. Dari 55kg to 50kg).

Family sungkai at Sri Patik Brasserie

Sungkai at Sri Patik Brasserie with my family. It was worth the money.

So we (Yenny, Yency & I) were waiting for pengumuman raya there. Much to our dissapointment, raya falls on Thursday. I bet alot of people were expecting it tomorrow.
We went around Gadong, which is unsurprisingly crowded. Banyak last minute shoppers! Hehe... Kadai kasut pun laku.

Yesterday, hubs & I purchased a wooden bench & a standing lamp from Tanda Mata Cinta. I'm pretty much satisfied with their stuffs. The standing lamp only costed me $65 (original price is $80, less 20% on DST privilege card holder).

Nikon D60

Today we purchased a new gadget, a Nikon D60 camera. I have yet to try and explore it.

Cleaning house is pretty challenging during the Ramadhan period. But we managed to get everything (the guest room, furniture, etc) ready for Raya with the help of two maids. So I'm grateful for them.

I still haven't got time to send my cars to the carwash. And bring Paris to the vet. Insya-Allah tomorrow. Oh...and I still am thinking of getting that rattan standing lamp from Tanda Mata Cinta. It would look good standing in the corner of the living room...*sigh*.

RV'78: *Sneeze*sneeze*....sniff, sniff...I don't feel so well for more than 3 days now.

Sungkai at Polo Club

Ooooh... I had the busiest day today. Been out & about all afternoon till evening. Just for the record, tadi tengah hari menurunkan tandatangan bagi surat pengakuan geran tanah di pejabat Mahkamah. (I had to practice my official signature since I'm so used to using initials at work. Fuhh!)

So here's what sungkai-ing at Polo looks like....
I had a wonderful time and experience, of costtt.... Sadly, there were not much choice on main course.
Be-queue punya queue, I ended up mengambil dua jenis lauk saja, hairan. Sayur chinese style & daging masak kurma. Sudah sampai d table, minta rah my mom ayam masak kari sepotong. However, I enjoyed breaking my thirst with kopi sajuk and teh tarik (both very kaw one!). As I finished my nasi, I sat around thinking what else to eat. So I went to look for kuih2 yang ada. Somehow... dlm banyak2 kuih atu, I only took 1 jenis saja + papaya & melon. Hairan... I expect to see western cakes & pies.

We did get a hilarious incident along the way...so that'll be memorable!

RV'78: "Make sure you don't break anything ah"... *PANG* "Eh make sure, make sure...eh, sh*t!" -- (Hahaha!!! Atu ia gigiran!)
P/s: It was sooo nice to bump into Mai at Nazmi Serusop. I missed her so much. It's been months since I last saw her.

Hari Raya countdown -- 4 days to go

Oh my... I'm counting the days to Raya.... 4 more days, insya-Allah...

So I'm posting this just in case I would be busy in the four remaining days to Raya. I think I'm starting to panic (a bit) coz there are so much to be done.
I pretty much suck on house-keeping. Hehehe... (Maybe too much honesty there!)
I don't have a maid this year. I depend too much on her, yeah. She did all the cleaning. I used to be the Queen of my own Kingdom!

This sucks big time!! Siapa ada amah ah... Pinjam seminggu sampai raya. Definitely no openhouse what so ever this year.
I feel like closing up the whole place, hang a note on the door saying "ON VACATION". Oh man, I'm sooo not psyched over Raya this year! What's wrong with me???

Anyway, it's probably wise to start Hari Raya greeting. So, I'm just gonna start with my husband, my friends & family.
My closest friends in my former workplace Salina & Laili... My old group of friends from UBD namely Satil, Maimunah, Enoi, Yus & Salmah wherever they are right now.

My family in Kg. Sungai Akar, my mom & dad and sisters.
And last but not least, my husband and my in-laws in Kg. Sungai Besar.
And not forgetting to Munirah who's now in UK celebrating Hari Raya away from home for the first time ever. (I'm glad I never had to do that, I can't stand being away from my family too long).

I wish you all a great Hari Raya 2008. We're gonna get together again soon on first Raya, insya-Allah. (That's what we normally do each year.)
Amiin...

A minor sore throat yet to heal...

I've been having a minor sore throat that just won't go away just yet. I hope it will heal by next week for I sure don't want it to ruin my Raya.
What do I need to do for raya preparation??
Clean house, arrange the furniture, take out all the fancy table clothes etc, bring the cars to the carwash.
So much to do in so little time. Oh! I also need to bring my lil' Paris to the vet soon. Probably on Monday.
Currently I'm in Tungku -- a family gathering of my hubby's aunt. I'm sooo full after sungkai-ing here. It's a gathering to bid farewell to another family member for further study.
That's all for now. Toodles!

News that attracts my attention today.

As I was surfing the net today, a few things attracted my attention.

SMALLEST MAN MEETS WOMAN WITH LONGEST LEGS

He Pingping from Inner Mongolia, China's autonomous region, the world's smallest man sits on the lap of Svetlana Pankratova from Russia, the Queen of Longest Legs, as they pose at Trafalgar Square in London, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008. Pingping, born with primordial dwarfism, holds the Guinness World Record for the smallest man at 74.61 cms (2 feet and 5.37 inches) and Pankratova holds the Guinness World Record for the longest leg of any woman at 132 cms (4 feet 4 inches) in length.
AIRPORT WORKERS GET THE PUSH

It took them nearly two hours to push the CRJ7 plane, with 69 passengers and seven-strong crew on board, less than half a mile to a side lane.
"Thank God, it was only a 20 tonne medium-sized airplane. If it had been a big plane, it would have knocked us out," said one man, who said he had never experience anything like it in ten years working at the airport.
Airport officials explained that plane's front hydraulic system was faulty and meant it could not be attached to a tow truck.
It happened at Zhengzhou airport where the flight from Guilin had a rocky landing because of the mechanical failure.
RV'78: That's an unusual sight, don't u think so. Normally we would see people pushing a broke-down car!

The so-called Egg (Taloooor)

I just don't get it! Really... Why do people bother so much over the so-called Egg that's been going around, especially in Ranoadidas' webbie.

Sampai ada yang menyelidik daily & put it up in her blog. All I see (in the pics that she's taken) is wooden wall, mcm kadai buat renovation... So, what is The Egg, really??? I don't know. Nobody knows yet.

Personally, I don't really care. If it is some sort of kadai baru kah, restoran baru kah... SO BE IT. I don't really bother kan menunggu tiap minggu just so that I can see perkembangan terbaru over it. Macam nada keraja lain... Moreover, ada tia yang membuat andaian sendiri...
Here's what they've been chatting about lately...(boring!)

>>chocco: I heard they going to have sort of easter egg shape chocolate for HR. Thats probably the place where it's opening. Supposedly very nice localized designs..

>>hell-o: apakan the egg ane? phenomenon? yaka?

>>nano: What is 'THE EGG' phenomemon? I'm nt in Brunei currently.. pls do update..tq

RV'78: Kesian...ada jua urg jauh yg ingin kan tau...

Would you return a lost phone....

Today, my hubby absentmindedly left his Nokia 6680 in the HEP office at UBD. He tried to call it from our home but nobody answered (as it was set to silent mode).

So, I'm kinda thinking... If you (as an honest person) found a mobile phone lying around and intend to return it to the owner, what would you do??

Do you wait for the owner to come by and directly return it? Or what if it took more than 12-hours for the owner to find out that his/her phone was gone??

A good attempt is to check for the owner's recent outgoing/incoming call list. You can easily tell if the owner has a girlfriend or spouse for that matter, don't you think?

Then you can acknowledge them of the owner's lost phone or ask for the owner's name for assurance.

Happy Teacher's Day to all the Tutors & Educators

It is 23rd September today and I received an early bird text message from a friend in Temburong greeting me "Selamat Hari Guru - Teruskan perjuangan dalam mendidik anak bangsa menuju kecemerlangan". And I was thinking, it's Teacher's Day already??? I totally forgot all about it.

And so I heard from the radio that the official ceremony of Teacher's Day will be held on 18th October. Looking forward to that.

So, in conjunction of today, I think it would be appropriate to put up some pictures and a few Teacher's Day quotes that I've personally picked out from the net. Enjoy reading....

TEACHER'S APPRECIATION IDEAS....

Below are some basic ideas. Besides having the traditional Teacher's Day celebration that we usually do in school, I particularly like....

Flower Shower: Make a student stand at the entry gate before the teacher's arrival. Shower the teachers with flowers when they enter the school.Say Thank You Differently:Prepare a group of twenty students. Write the phrase "THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR!", with each letter on a separate piece of paper. Now attach one letter on the front side of one student. Arrange the students in a horizontal line at the entry gate to form the complete phrase. Make sure all this is done before the teachers start coming.

Organize Breakfast: Order patties, pastries, coffee and other breakfast items one day before Teacher's Day. Arrive in the school early. Receive the foodstuff yourself in the morning and set up the whole breakfast before your teacher's arrival.Prepare Souvenirs:Print your teacher's names on coffee mugs, T-shirts, schoolbags, etc or to commemorate the efforts put in by your teachers.

Dress Up: On Teacher Appreciation Day, dress up as your favorite teacher. Ask him/her to take sometime off and take the class that he/she was supposed to take. But, don't forget to take prior permission from your principal for this.

RV'78 says: Having the 'Dress Up' would be an absolutely cute idea (in class) for the smaller kids. Especially if you have a few bright/smart kids in class. They could really immitate you, you know.

Sounds weird to me

"Kenapa Singgah Kalau Tak Masuk"

Okay, this is one of the weirdest songs that I've ever listened to.
I dunno about you readers, but I simply dun like the song title.

And there's one part of the lyric that goes "Semenjak dua menjak"... Gramatically, it is soooo wrong, man!
While the song goes to the chorus part... it sounds like lagu raya... I mean, is it just me... what do you think? Hmmmm.....

Jay Chou - before he got famous...

I came across this picture of Jay Chou - before he got famous, I guess.
He looked ridiculous with that hair. HAHA! And those glasses...ooohhh... Kill me now!
But the transformation did him good.
Of costtt....

Research topic goin' south...

My mind is going slow. I’m trying to come up with a certain topic to start doing a research. It’s actually a proposal research that i’m trying to focus on. Yeah, u guessed it rite, i’m planning on getting a master degree. Whao... dat sounds weird, just mentioning ‘master degree’. So, i’ve been asking around about it from friends.
Sadly, i visited the UBD website, and there aren’t any Masters Degree programmes stated under SHBIE department. Luckily I’ve a lecturer-friend there, so she sent me the 5 programmes offered.

1- MA in Educational Management
2- MA in Mathematics
3- MA in Science
4- MA in Language Education
5- MA in Special Education

I was joking around with my hubby the other day. We happened to watch this new Mercedez model passed by. And I said, “Oh! That’s the new model that I told you about. I soooo love the front view of it, & the back looks good too”. So, hubby was saying, “Are u sure? I thought u said u don't like it before. So, now you’re thinking of getting one my dear?” I replied, “If i got my Master Degree, yes, why not. I may afford one by then!”
I mean, i would have extra finance to it, rite. Not dat i can’t afford one now. Just that, we already have 3 cars parked downstairs.

So, now i’m kinda thinking, maybe, just maybe I might have a master degree. But i still have to come up with a sharp idea of a research topic under Educational Management.

By the way, I’m gonna take Master Degree in Educational Management. Insya-Allah...

Milo... I screammmm....

Milo ice cream... yummy!
While eating them in the living room, my mind kinda' floated away to the days when I was little.
We used to live in Temburong. We grew up in the loneliest district of Brunei. We lived in a small town. There weren't any supermarket, just un-airconditioned c
onvenient shops. (That was before...today, I'm amazed with all the super changes).

So whenever my daddy went to the 'city' (BSB), he would buy us a container of ice cream to share within ourselves.
Love my daddy...

Once in a while, I do think about the old days...What my daddy used to do in his past time.

Sungkai at Sri Patik Brasserie

Yesterday, my husband & I tried the sungkai buffet at Sri Patik Brasserie. It's located in Berakas at the Jaya Setia Square building (close to the airport roundabout).

I must say that I had a quite relaxing time just enjoying my food. The room is spacious, so it didn't seem crowded. Besides, inda jua berabut-rabut and most of all, inda jua payah lalu-lalu in between the chairs & tables.

Last week I had sungkai at i-Lotus & I remembered eating too fast on everything. Probably because the crowded surroundings and the noise.

But yesterday, I enjoyed it. Plus, terasa kanyang sampai tengah malam. Usually, I would feel hungry by the time it struck midnite!

The food sure worth the money ($15). Delicious!

My taste of music

I’ve been listening to some Chinese (Mandarin) songs lately. I guess I got tired of listening to English and Malay or Indonesian songs these past few years. So I started to keep up with some songs from Jay Chou and Lee Hom. Obviously, betagar sudah utakku kan membaca & becakap mandarin. So, I thought to myself, I should be learning Mandarin again. I mean, sayang jua ilmu yg pernah ku belajar dulu atu, sekarang inda lagi bepakai.

I particularly like a slow number by Jay Chou - 'Wo Bu Pei' (I'm Not Worthy). Love the vid on youtube. Jay's such a hottie!

Here's the link to the vid shown via youtube:

Mind you, I still prefer Mandarin songs than Cantonese. Don't ask me why. And I very much love the slow, mellow songs...

Exam G.O. & F.R.

Terlambat... Aku terlambat mengisi borang untuk exam GO & FR.
You see, my friend & I supposed to sit for this exam this December. Somehow, my friend filled out her form last minute. I mean, rite on the closing date, but somehow got an excuse from education officers who happened to visit their school.

So, I guess we're not gonna be sitting for the exam together. I'd probably sit for it next year, insya-Allah.

So, what have I been doing today? I had a catnap in the afternoon, sent my big car to the car wash & break-fast with my mom & dad at Sg. Akar.

Oh...& for the first time, I went to look for kebabs, alone at the stadium.
How boring... & guess who I saw there...Princess Majeedah & her husband Khairul Khalil.
I mean, wow...who wud've guessed them to be standing in the crowd. I wonder what they were looking for.
They look cute as a couple. *winks*
